During the course of this two year program I have been very reflective on my understanding and use of technology in the classroom. I have explored, considered, and begun to understand the various uses of technology for students and what constitutes a comprehensive digital age education.
As described in my Mission Statement, integration, professional development, digital citizenship the value of teachers, and equity of access are values of technology-rich learning environments that I feel “promote excellence and support transformational change.”
Digital Citizenship and the explicit instruction of how to be a respectful and responsible digital citizen is an area of digital education that I have focused on throughout this program. The Digital Readiness Project, which I completed during my first quarter, looks at how one school is preparing their students for their work in technology-rich learning environments.
